| The US Amateur South was a big success, with 46 participants. Mark Hathaway won the "open" section with a perfect score, apart from a �-point bye in round 3. Robert Collins of Virginia won the Reserve section with the same method. Winners were awarded a trophy and chess set, except for the 3rd place in the Reserve section since two players had identical tiebreaks. Brandon Bradshaw took home the trophy and Nikolay Ivanov took home the chess set.
